Milwaukee Record is working in partnership with Urban Cat Coalition—a local organization that’s dedicated to creating a no kill community by humanely reducing the cat population in the Milwaukee area through targeted trap-neuter-return (TNR)—to help find loving homes for area cats. Each week, we plan to highlight a feline friend that’s currently up for adoption by naming it “Milwaukee Record’s Cat Of The Week.” This week: a sweet senior named Sunday.

Meet Sunday! He may only have a few teeth, but what he lacks in enamel, he makes up for in love! This sweet boy was living in a massive colony of cats, but clearly had belonged to someone at some point, as he was already neutered and much friendlier than the others. His caregiver was able to pick him up and put him in a carrier for us, and we just couldn’t stomach the idea of putting him back outside. Luckily, he warmed up to his foster mom within minutes and was purring and making biscuits on his blanket.

Given his age, we had blood work done and, thankfully, everything looks great! He did need a dental, which left him with only three teeth (it’s absolutely adorable), but he eats food with no problem at all.

Sunday can be a bit shy at first, so he would do best in a quiet home with either no other pets, or very calm cats. Sadly, he seems to get bullied quite a bit by more boisterous cats and isn’t good at sticking up for himself. He might take a little time to come out of his shell, but trust us, it’s worth the wait! Could you be the family Sunday has always dreamed of?
