Today in, well, crushing local festival news: Crusherfest—the celebration of wrestling legend Reggie “Da Crusher” Lisowski—will officially not be happening in 2024. The “Crusherfest Committee” posted the decision on the South Milwaukee-based festival’s social media pages on Sunday evening.

“After much consideration, we have decided to hold Crusherfest every other year,” the short and sweet message says. “We will not host a festival this year, but will in 2025.”

Founded in 2019, the grassroots community festival took 2020 off for obvious reasons, but triumphantly returned to downtown South Milwaukee in October 2021. It took 2022 off as well, then came back in full force last June. So taking 2024 off actually fits the theme of this not-quite-annual block party. While we’ll be missing the event this year, we’re excited to celebrate Da Crusher with you turkeynecks in 2025.
