You know the drill: The 2020 Democratic National Convention was once set to take over Milwaukee and attract both 50,000 people and the world’s attention. Now, thanks to COVID-19, it has been reduced to a nearly all-virtual event, and is a Milwaukee convention in name only, if that. It’s an incalculable loss for the city.

And yet some semblance of the Milwaukee-based DNC is still taking place. There are miles of fencing surrounding the mostly empty Wisconsin Center and UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. When we paid a visit to the site on Wednesday around 3 p.m., some cops were milling around. Right after we left we read that some out-of-town pro-Trump bikers had rolled in; we went back to find them, but they were mostly gone.

In an effort to document just how much this sucks (seriously, there’s absolutely no snark here), we present 18 pictures (and one video) from Day 3 of the Milwaukee-based DNC. (Here’s a look at Day 1 and Day 2.)
