Local tourism organization Visit Milwaukee has come a long way since proclaiming Milwaukee to be “Chicago’s Upper, Upper North Side,” and thinking a campaign entitled “You Gotta Be Here!” was a good idea. These days, Visit Milwaukee is downright useful. For proof, look no further than its many handy “itineraries,” which group Milwaukee destinations and activities into themed packages like “Guy’s Weekend” (Harley-Davidson Museum, CMP Tactical Lazer Tag, etc.), “Girlfriends Getaway” (tea and beauty salons!), “LGBT Hotspots” (La Cage, D.I.X., etc.), and “Wauwatosa.” Inspired by these hometown entertainment lists, we whipped up a few of our own.
