Westown Association announces Westown Day Market coming to Zeidler Union Square this summer

The Westown Day Market opens for the season on Thursday, June 8; vendor applications now open for 2023 season

MILWAUKEE – Westown Association is excited to announce the Westown Day Market, formerly known as the Westown Farmers’ Market, returns to the Westown neighborhood in downtown Milwaukee this summer. Presented by We Energies Foundation, the Westown Day Market features a variety of lunch options, specialty vendors and entertainment. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays, June 8 and 22, July 13 and 27, August 10 and 24 and September 7 and 21 at Zeidler Union Square, 301 W Michigan St.

“As Westown’s daytime population continues to grow, we felt it was the perfect time to bring back this beloved event,” said Stacie Callies, Executive Director of Westown Association. “Now that more employees have returned to their offices full-time and new corporate headquarters are attracting hundreds of new employees to the neighborhood, the opportunity to bring back a retooled version of this Westown lunch time tradition seemed fitting. Downtown employees, residents and visitors can once again take advantage of the summer weather and enjoy their lunchbreak outdoors while supporting local businesses.”

“We are pleased to once again sponsor this event that connects local businesses with hundreds of people each week it is open. The fresh food and festive atmosphere are part of what makes Milwaukee’s summer like no other place in the world,” said Beth Straka, president of the We Energies Foundation.

Westown is currently seeking vendors to participate in the Westown Day Market. Applications can be found on westown.org. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 28. The vendor and entertainment lineups will be announced in mid-May.

The Westown Farmers’ Market was previously downtown Milwaukee’s oldest open-air market until 2019. The 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and remained on hiatus while the downtown workforce had not fully returned to their offices. Now known as the Westown Day Market, the event will have dozens local vendors each week, as well as acoustic performances from Milwaukee’s great musicians.
