La Masa Opens at Milwaukee Public Market

Milwaukee, Wisconsin – February 18, 2026 – Milwaukee Public Market is excited to announce the opening of its newest vendor, La Masa Empanada Bar, now welcoming guests to an Argentine-inspired dining experience at the Historic Third Ward destination.

The newly reimagined space, located near the central staircase inside the Market, adjacent to Thief Wine and Freese’s Candy Shoppe, is a true reflection of its roots. Guests can enjoy oven-baked empanadas alongside signature cocktails, including offerings from a sangria tap tower, takeout counter and a dine-in bar. Art is visible throughout, with murals created by Wisconsin artist Colleen Drew, including Fernando, the beloved Fernet-Branca crocodile mascot. Overhead, a colorful floral ceiling installation adds to the vibrant, Latin-inspired atmosphere.

La Masa’s menu features more than 20 varieties of flaky, oven-baked empanadas cooked to order, with options including Beef Barbacoa, Soy Chorizo y Potato and Cheese Curd n’ Bacon. Guests can also enjoy mini empanadas such as Mini Everything Bagel, dessert empanadas including Kookie Dough, gluten-free empanada bowls and the vegetarian-friendly It’s the Stubby’s Black Bean Burger.

“What I’m most excited for people to experience at our Milwaukee Public Market location is the environment we’ve created,” said Megan Todd of La Masa Empanada Bar. “It’s a fusion space where locals and visitors can meet for a little Latin inspiration with a Wisconsin twist.”

In addition to its food offerings, La Masa features a craft beverage program. Signature cocktails include fresh muddled mojitos, pisco sours, caipirinhas, tall Fernet & Coke and house red sangria, which is also available to go in decorative one-liter glass bottles. Beer selections and classic cocktails round out the menu.

“La Masa represents the kind of evolution we value at the Market,” said Paul Schwartz, Executive Director of the Milwaukee Public Market and Business Improvement District #2. “The impressively redesigned space, paired with a fresh and authentic menu, creates an experience that invites people to gather and enjoy something that accommodates a range of dining preferences.”

La Masa’s location at the Milwaukee Public Market, located at 400 N. Water St., is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
