Fresh Artisan Pasta Makes a Glorious Return to Crossroads Collective

Noodle Me: A Pasta Pantry to Open at East Side Food Hall

MILWAUKEE: November 7, 2023 – Chef, veteran, and restaurateur Jonute Svien is expanding his footprint at Crossroads Collective with a new concept, Noodle Me, scheduled to open to the public on November 16, 2023. Svien currently operates Nute’s Café, which opened at the food hall in April of this year and has quickly become a neighborhood favorite.

Last May, when Egg & Flour closed their East Side location to focus on the brand’s Bay View restaurant, Chef Adam Pawlak commented that “it’s time for someone else to have this spot and start building their dreams. After all, that’s what food halls are for…” As it turns out, someone was listening – and dreaming.

Svien had recently traveled to Italy and visited a small, family-run pasta shop that served hand rolled pasta and made-from scratch sauce. Amid delicious food and a lively, welcoming environment, he made a decision that one day he’d open a pasta shop of his own.

Svien finds his culinary inspiration in his multi-layered heritage, as well as traveling and immersing himself in new cultures. He uses international flavors in his dishes at Nute’s Café in a way that makes them approachable and family-friendly, and plans to follow suit at Noodle Me.

“One of my favorite things about pasta is that its comfort knows no bounds. Whatever your age or background, a great bowl of pasta brings a smile to your face,” remarked Svien.

There will be no shortage of smiles at Noodle Me. The simple menu focuses on expert technique and fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Featuring standout dishes like Sunday Gravy with slow simmered Bolognese sauce, Penne with Tomato-Cream Vodka Sauce, Mushroom Marsala with fettucine, and Creamy Basil Pesto with spaghetti, Noodle Me will open for lunch and dinner on November 16th , with corporate catering service to follow shortly thereafter.

“We are thrilled to see Jonute thriving at Crossroads Collective,” commented Emily Chirillo, Hospitality Director at New Land Enterprises, the local real estate development firm which owns and operates the food hall. “We feel so fortunate that he joined our community of talented vendors, and we can’t wait to have fresh delicious pasta in the food hall again. This has been a transitional year for the food hall, and we’re excited to have so many new concepts choosing Crossroads and opening their doors within this community.”

Noodle Me: A Pasta Pantry will open in the stall that formerly housed the Counter Day Bar, next to The Pharmacy Bar and The Corner Pop Up. During the concept’s grand opening, Svien will offer a 25% discount for veterans and service members.

Located at 2238 N Farwell Ave. in Milwaukee, Crossroads Collective is a food hall that provides vendors like Noodle Me with shared resources to test new concepts and bring new flavors to the neighborhood. The East Side Food Hall takes pride in supporting small businesses and bringing new culinary experiences to the area. The current vendors include Nute’s Café, Kawa Ramen and Sushi, Scratch Ice Cream, Ready To Roll, and The Pharmacy Bar.
