Fans of Canadian supergroups who have been crafting impeccable pop-leaning indie rock for more than two decades take note: The New Pornographers will play Milwaukee’s Turner Hall Ballroom on Thursday, May 4. General admission tickets to the 8 p.m. show—featuring opener Wild Pink—are $30. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 13 at 10 a.m. A pre-sale starts Thursday, January 12 at noon.
Made up of A.C. Newman, Neko Case, Kathryn Calder, Todd Fancey, Blaine Thurier, John Collins, Joe Seiders, and Simi Stone, The New Pornographers are one of those bands that have never made a bad album. Seriously: everything from 2000’s Mass Romantic to 2019’s In The Morse Code Of Brake Lights is great. (Brill Bruisers, from 2014, is an all-timer.) Oh! And they have a new album coming out on Merge Records on March 31! It’s called Continue As A Guest, and you can listen to the opening track, “Really Really Light,” now:
