Located in nearby Village of Bayside, Wisconsin, the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center is a natural treasure that’s right in Milwaukee’s backyard. We recently went for the first time and absolutely loved it.

If you have $10 (or $7 for military and people ages three to 17) to get in, you can explore miles of scenic trails that weave through the woods, border the shores of Lake Michigan, and bring you to the edge of other lakes and ponds. There’s a cool observation tower, educational opportunities for all ages, and ample ability for quality birding. Oh, and this July, visitors will also have the chance to enjoy some live music at the Schlitz Audubon.

Every Monday in July, the nature center will host an evening concert at its pavilion (or in the Great Hall in the instance of inclement weather). From 6:30-7:30 p.m., folks are invited to take in a live performance from an eclectic range of acts. Shows are included with the price of admission and it’s recommended those who attend bring their own seating. Here’s the lineup!

July 6
Bounding Main

July 13
Karmon Blue & David Freeman Duo

July 20
The Ukuladies

July 27
Bella Musik
