No Milwaukee band is better attuned to summer’s giddy highs and bittersweet lows than Sat. Nite Duets. The scrappy Riverwest outfit has grappled with the summer season on nearly all of its albums—hell, one of them is named Summer Of Punishment—and its music seems perfectly suited to drunken lawn parties, drunken porch parties, or just outdoor drinking in general. Need proof? Dig into “The Last Summer” from the sixth-best Milwaukee album of the 2010s (so far), Electric Manland, which recently landed on our Tracklist of Milwaukee summer songs.
Or just go ahead and listen to a new Sat. Nite Duets song, “On My Honor,” exclusively at Milwaukee Record. The track is the first single from the band’s upcoming seven-song EP, Los DJs, set for a release next month on Uninhabitable Mansions. While summer doesn’t get explicitly name-dropped in the lyrics, “On My Honor” is clearly a summer jam. Plus, the lead guitar kicks all kinds of ass.
