Back in February, we let you know that Yummy Bowl would be setting up shop in the 3rd Street Market Hall soon. Well, it turns out “soon” is today! Yes, the restaurant concept that successfully launched in June of 2022 at the Whitefish Bay Farmers Market is opening its first permanent brick and mortar location in the downtown food hall starting at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26.

Yummy Bowl was inspired by the desire to provide home-style meals in the convenience of a bowl. Its menu will include breakfast options, chicken and waffles, Cajun-style dishes, macaroni and cheese, and even a traditional fish fry on Fridays. Yummy Bowl says its mission is “providing comfort food, excellent customer service and a fun environment for all ages.”

Breakfast service begins at 8 a.m., and the lunch and dinner menu will begin at 11 a.m. Co-owner Anita Gray tells us Wednesday’s special will be “The Original YumMorning Bowl,” which includes scrambled eggs (cheddar cheese optional), a choice of bacon and sausages (pork or turkey), and a fluffy Belgium waffle or French Toast Sticks topped with powdered sugar—all in one bowl. Gray also says Yummy Bowl will also have an assortment of cereal on hand for breakfast.

For lunch on its opening day, the new restaurant will offer “Yummy Chicken & Waffles” and “Cajun-style YumBalaya,” and “a Yummy daily special.” Yummy Bowl’s hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
