For the last seven years, Burnhearts Mitten Fest has helped combat cabin fever for thousands of people who converge in a two-block stretch on Bay View’s Potter Avenue (and part of Logan the last four years) with a wintry mix of live music, food, and fun. While music and outdoor activity were initially the main draw, Mitten Fest has also become a winter wonderland for beer lovers and cocktail enthusiasts of late.

As the block party has grown and improved since its inception, so has its beer selection. Recent years have found Burnhearts offering festival-goers an opportunity to enjoy barrel-aged favorites, fun variants, and hard-to-find rarities from Midwestern breweries. This year—Saturday, February 1—is no different, as Central Waters Brewery and Bell’s Brewery will offer an impressive Mitten Fest selection that’s well worth braving the elements to try. Some of the standouts include the Wisconsin debut (!!!) of Bell’s Brewery’s new Light Hearted Ale as well as their Expedition from 2018 and 2019, along with XXII and Black Gold from Central Waters.

Of course, the limited beers will be staggered throughout the day, so your best bet is to show up early and stay for a while. Here’s the beer list that will be available outside at Burnhearts Mitten Fest 2020.

If beer isn’t your thing, Mitten Fest will also have an array of other alcoholic options, including its famous Korbel Brandyland Old Fashioned (a brandy old fashioned mix that’s house-aged in bourbon barrels with Bittercube Bitters), Korbel Ginger Brandy Toddy, Tito’s Handmade Vodka Milk Punch, Valentine and Tullamore Dew Irish coffee (which is vegan), and more. Cheers, Milwaukee!
