Eating hot ham and rolls has been an integral part of the Sunday tradition in and around Milwaukee for generations. This iconic pairing is simple, delicious, filling, and fairly inexpensive. It’s great. If—and this is a hard “if”—there’s any drawback to hot ham and rolls, it’s the fact the distinctly Wisconsin weekend delicacy can’t be enjoyed by everyone. Whether a byproduct of dietary decisions, religious reasons, or on account of health-related factors, a portion of the population can’t and/or won’t partake in hot ham and rolls in their traditional form. But what if we told you there was a way for those folks to get their Sunday hot ham fix? Well, there is!

In the spirit of inclusion, Batter & Mac is now offering meat-free hot “ham” on Sundays. The vegan version of the local favorite is made with Warm Prime Roots Koji-based vegan ham and is accompanied by vegan bakery rolls. A half-pound of vegan ham and six rolls runs $11.75. This combo will be available at both Batter & Mac locations (Menomonee Falls and Milwaukee’s Bay View neighborhood) starting at 8 a.m. on Sundays only. Batter & Mac warns that supplies are “very limited” and will be sold on a “first come, first served” basis.

If you want to pig out…er, chow down on a meatless rendition of a Milwaukee weekend staple, Batter & Mac is the place to be this Sunday (and hopefully many more to come).
