With results still technically unofficial, the winners of Tuesday’s 2025 Spring Primary have emerged.
In the race for State Superintendent of Public Instruction, incumbent Jill Underly and school choice and charter school supporter Brittany Kinser are moving on to the general 2025 Spring Election on April 1.
Meanwhile, in the race for Milwaukee District 3 Alderperson—a position left vacant following the death of Jonathan Brostoff in November—Milwaukee Democratic Socialists of America-endorsed Alex Brower and Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson-endorsed Daniel Bauman will face off on April 1.
The Superintendent is responsible for setting education standards and policies for the entire state. The District 3 Alderperson represents the East Side and parts of the Riverwest neighborhood on the Milwaukee Common Council.
The April 1 general election will also feature the big Wisconsin Supreme Court race between Susan Crawford and Brad Schimel. We’ll have a super-simple voting guide to the whole thing a few weeks before election day. Here are the (still unofficial) primary results, which may still be updated:
