Milwaukee Record is working in partnership with Urban Cat Coalition to help find loving homes for area cats. Each week, we—with generous sponsorship from Skilos, A Family Pet Store—plan to highlight a feline friend that’s currently up for adoption by naming it “Milwaukee Record’s Cat Of The Week.” This week: a lovely lady named Ginger.
Meet Ginger! Ginger is a beautiful girl who’s ready to find a very special forever home. She adores relaxing with her humans, basking in the sun from a cozy window perch, and enjoying a little playtime when the mood strikes.
Ginger is blind, so she’s looking for a quiet, patient home that will give her the time and space she needs to settle in at her own pace. Sudden movements and loud environments can be overwhelming for her, so she would do best in a calm household without young children or dogs.
She’s open to meeting other friendly cats, especially ones who are gentle and respectful—but like everything with Ginger, it’s all about taking things slow. With patience and love, she blossoms into a devoted and affectionate companion.
Ginger needs a home that is willing to go the extra mile to make her feel safe and cherished. For blind cats, things added to a home like floor mats, rugs, padded table legs, and a threshold at the top of a staircase are all helpful markers for them to learn a new space. After all, Ginger knows her worth—and she deserves nothing less than the very best forever home!
