VIA CDC presents the 12th annual Phobruary celebration Press Release January 24, 2025 VIA CDC presents the 12th annual Phobruary celebration Celebrate Milwaukee’s vibrant culinary scene this Phobruary Milwaukee, WI – VIA Community Development Corporation is excited to announce the 12th Annual Phobruary, a month-long celebration highlighting the vibrant culinary offerings of Milwaukee’s near south side neighborhood, Silver City. This year, the event will feature participating restaurants: Vientiane Noodle Shop, Thai-Barbq Restaurant, and a new addition to the lineup, PK Palace. Phobruary celebrates the iconic Vietnamese noodle soup, pho, while shining a spotlight on local restaurants and the power food has to bring communities together. This month-long event showcases the talents of Milwaukee’s diverse chefs and restaurateurs, inviting attendees to explore a variety of flavors. Throughout February, participating restaurants will offer an exclusive $7 pho special, making it an affordable and delicious way to enjoy authentic Southeast Asian cuisine. As a community-driven initiative, Phobruary is hosted by VIA Community Development Corporation, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening local economic growth by promoting neighborhood pride, supporting locally owned businesses, and fostering community connections. “This event is more than just an opportunity to enjoy amazing food—it’s a celebration of culture, community, and small businesses,” said JoAnna Bautch, Executive Director at VIA CDC. “Phobruary is a chance for Milwaukeeans to come together, support local restaurants, and enjoy the rich traditions behind Southeast Asian cuisine.” Beginning on Saturday, February 1st, and running throughout the month of February, VIA CDC will host giveaways for restaurant-goers.
