Snakehole Lounge: A Parks and Rec Pop-Up at the Sugar Maple

The Sugar Maple’s next Pop Up will take place Thursday, March 13 through Sunday, March 16. Get on board and buckle up because this rides gonna be a big one and if you get motion sickness put your head between your knees because Sugar Maple is stopping for no one!

In addition to the usual Pop Up events, such as Trivia, Costume Contest, Vendor Fair, Food Trucks, there will be additional programming that includes “Know Ya Boo?” a partner compatibility contest/game, a “Rent A Swag” Clothing Swap, and a series entitled “Empowering Women/LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, which are talks given by compassionate people in areas of expertise to provide positive and proactive ways to engage in your community.

In the spirit of the Pawnee Parks Department, the Sugar Maple wants to make a difference by donating a portion of the proceeds of sales to the following organizations: ACLU, Alliance For The Great Lakes, Equality Now, Doctors Without Borders, Diverse and Resilient, and Planned Parenthood.

“Treat Yo’ Self “ to a whisky based “Andy’s Mouth Surprise” or a rum based “Friends, Waffles, Work”, or the NA, “Beautiful Naïve Sophisticated Newborn Baby”, and more at this Park and Recreation inspired Pop Up, The Snakehole Lounge.

In trying times like these, who could we possibly need more than the over-achieving, passionate, charming, creative, organized, hard-working, loving, optimistic, enthusiastic, advocative, ray of sunshine, Leslie Knope?!

• Empowering Women/LGBTQIA+/BIPOC Series: Financial Investing with Luz Sosa Johnson- Back Room, 12:15p (Doors), 12:30p (Start), free to attend, 45 person capacity, first-come, first seated.

• “Pawnee Harvest Festival” Vendor Fair featuring Women/LGBTQIA+/BIPOC vendors (1-5p)

• “Know Ya Boo” Contest (9-11p) Hosted by Michael Kittelson. Couples sign up, in person, at 8p. There will be four rounds, with the winner from each round, competing in the fifth, final round. Prizes will be awarded per round, with a grand prize for the final round. Each round consists of a series of questions for each couple. The couples whose answers match, gain a point. The couple with the most points wins that round.

Sunday, March 16 (noon-10p)

• “Food And Stuff” Featuring Chef Aaron (1-5p)

• “Ron’s Fortune” Treasure Hunt (Noon-1p) Contestants will have 1 hour to find Ron’s hidden gold. The top three hunters with the most gold will win prizes! All ages!

• “Empowering Women/LGBTQIA+/BIPOC Series: How to Get Involved In Our Political Future With TBD (2-4p)

• “Rent A Swag” Clothing Swap (5-8p) Bring a bag of clean, gently used clothing, and go home with a new wardrobe, Treat Yo Self!
