Ex Fabula announces 18th season of public storytelling programming
MILWAUKEE — Ex Fabula is pleased to announce the start of their eighteenth season of public StorySlams. The first event, with a theme of “Coming of Age,” will take place at 7PM on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Sugar Maple in Bay View (441 E. Lincoln Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53207).
Attendees are invited to come and listen to stories, or to participate in several interactive elements throughout the night. At each StorySlam, any attendee can add their name to the hat for the chance to share a true, personal story based on the night’s theme in 5 minutes or less. Guests are also invited to submit UltraShorts, which are 1-2 sentence stories written on a slip of paper to be read aloud by the event emcees.
StorySlam tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets are now available at www.exfabula.org/tickets.
Other upcoming events include:
- StoryStarter Workshop and StorySlam: Signs on Tuesday, October 13 at Dandy in Washington Heights
- StoryStretch Workshop on Tuesday, November 10 at Fruition MKE in Concordia
- StoryStarter Workshop and AfterDark: For the Culture on Thursday, November 19 at Radio Milwaukee in Walker’s Point
- StorySlam: Apologies on Friday, December 18 at Falcon Bowl in Riverwest
- StorySlam: Gut Feelings on Wednesday, January 6, 2027, at The Cooperage in Harbor View
As part of Ex Fabula’s commitment to equity and access, a limited number of free “pay it forward” tickets will be available online for individuals who could otherwise not afford to attend. Community members can support this practice by purchasing individual “pay-it-forward” tickets or by becoming Ex Fabula members.
