That time of year is upon us again. Roughly a year after doling out hardware to deserving winners like PHOX, GGOOLLDD, Field Report, and WebsterX, as well as questionable winners like Vic Ferrari, “Live Music Venue”/Menasha sports bar without a stage Stone Toad, and inexplicable inaugural Global Honorary Hall Of Fame inductee Judas Priest in its 35th year, the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (or WAMIs) will honor some of the state’s best musicians (and who knows, maybe another British heavy metal band?) at Appleton-based Fox Cities Performing Arts Center on April 17.

While the official nominations, the Hall Of Fame selections, and that Global Honorary thingy haven’t been revealed yet, WAMI opened up its People’s Choice ballot for its 36th ceremony. Knowing you’re probably not going to agree with every winner in the statewide awards show, listeners can at least have a say in who’s named the year’s best Artist, Radio Station, Music Teacher, Live Club Venue, and Music Fan in four Wisconsin regions.

We’ll have more information on the nominees as it becomes available. In the meantime, make your voice heard. Or don’t. Whatever.
