It’s been a hell of a year for Tigernite. The Milwaukee glam-rock quartet put out its self-titled debut, which is earning its fair share of positive attention on year-end lists (ours included). They opened for The Offspring, played Pridefest, Summerfest, and virtually every other local event ending in “fest” or “days” this summer. While the band could be content to sit back and reflect upon its best and most productive year of its relatively short existence, Tigernite wanted to thank listeners for the big year by giving them a free download of a (loosely) Christmas-themed song.

“Rock N Roll Pizza Party” adds to the surprisingly-crowded canon of amazingly tolerable Milwaukee-made holiday songs. Though the title could fool you, the Christmas references flow as rich and thick as eggnog in the seasonal rocker. As sleigh bells and church bells ring, singer Molly Roberts pines for a Christmas time pizza party. While nowhere as serious as most of Tigernite’s other material is, it’s a fun song to throw in the holiday rotation. Bass player Eric Arsnow explains, “we simply wanted to see what we could come up with in an afternoon of recording and have a fun, no pressure environment to work in.”

Tigernite will end its impressive 2015 with a New Year’s Eve show at Tonic Tavern with The Bang Bang. The show begins at 10:30 and costs $10 (including a champagne toast at midnight).
