Sylvan Esso may hail from Durham, North Carolina, but the hot-as-shit two-piece electro act has some serious Milwaukee connections. Nick Sanborn, of course, is a former Milwaukeean and former member of the gone-but-not-forgotten Decibully. What’s more, Sanborn met his future Sylvan Esso collaborator, Amelia Meath, while both musicians were sharing a bill at the Cactus Club in 2010. Fast forward four years and the group is one of the most critically beloved acts in the country, and will perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Wednesday, July 9. (Other guests that night: Kelly Ripa, and that Alcide dude from True Blood.) If that’s not a solid follow-up gig from the Burnhearts/PBR Street Party a few weekends ago, we don’t know what is.

Read our previous interview with Sanborn here, in which he teases some “crazy stuff” coming up for the band. We’re assuming this is what he was talking about.
