That low rumble emanating from the depths of Lake Michigan isn’t a storm and/or Godzilla, it’s Milwaukee’s summer festival season, soon to be back on our shores after 8,000 years of winter. And what better way to kick things off than the annual PrideFest Milwaukee, scheduled to take over Henry W. Maier Festival Park June 5-7? Not only is the LGBT celebration the first summer festival of the season to set up shop on the lakefront, it’s one of the best. Ani DiFranco and En Vogue (!) will headline the Saturday and Sunday lineup of the three-day fest, respectively, and will be joined by Betty Who, Crystal Bowersox, David Hernandez, Ty Herndon, and nearly 100 more local, regional, and national acts.

“We truly believe PrideFest Milwaukee offers something for every visitor,” said festival co-producer Kate Sherry in a 2014 press release. “This year, we’re thrilled to host a dynamic mix of musical, comedy, and drag performances that reflects the diversity of LGBT culture and community. We’re honored to have access to such stunning talent—and our showcase continues to grow every day.”

One-day general admission tickets are $13; a three-day pass is $33. One-day Miller VIP tickets are $100 for Friday and Saturday, and $10 for Sunday. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 3 at noon.

Saturday, June 6: Ani DiFranco, Betty Who, Crystal Bowersox
