Joining Sin Bad as one of the most promising new Milwaukee bands of 2014 is Light Music, the latest synth-speckled post-rock project from Brendan Benham (Altos, Collections Of Colonies Of Bees) and members of former indie group The Four Hundred. For a new band, Light Music has certainly been busy: In advance of a full-length album called Ocean’s Daughter, due out this year, Benham and company have been making the rounds on WMSE, setting up gigs at this weekend’s Yellow Phone Music Conference, and releasing their first single, “Don’t Go Quietly.” Looking for examples on how to get off on the right foot, new bands? Look no further.

Now, Light Music has released a second single from Ocean’s Daughter, “You Run Me.” Similar to “Don’t Go Quietly,” it’s a lush, jittery pastiche of sparkling electronica and urgent post-rock. Unlike “Don’t Go Quietly,” however, it clocks in at over five minutes, and features members of Altos on strings. Stream “You Run Me” below, and/or download it for free by liking the band’s Facebook page.
