A lot of what makes the current Milwaukee music scene so vital and exceptional can be found in NO/NO. The alternately hard-edged and dreamy electro pop group, fronted by Harrison Colby and formed from the ashes of The Delphines in 2014, is not only scathingly great on its own terms, but Colby’s record label, Gloss Records, is responsible for terrific local releases from everyone from GGOOLLDD and Rio Turbo to Lorde Fredd33 and Marielle Allschwang. NO/NO has two excellent EPs to its name (collected into one 2015 self-titled album), and is currently preparing for the release of a brand new full-length, Sound And Light.

A track from that album, “Television,” has been unveiled today, following in the footsteps of the previously released “Whatever.” “Television” is a surprisingly heavy affair for NO/NO, highlighted by Colby’s slashing guitar lead, Cat Ries’ goth-gloom synth, Lucas Riddle’s insistent bass, and Jeremy Ault’s club-ready electronic drums. There’s also an accompanying DASHCAM remix, with makes the song even more dance-friendly.

Sound And Light will be released May 31. A vinyl copy of the album can be pre-ordered here.
