Entering its fourth year, the Cory Chisel-curated Mile Of Music festival is bigger and (arguably) better than ever, with close to 250 acts combining for more than 900 performances at dozens of bars- and shops-turned-venues on or in the vicinity of Appleton’s College Avenue from August 4-7. While acts slated to play Mile 4 hail from all corners of the country and parts of Canada, a sizable portion of the lineup is based in Wisconsin, including no shortage of bands, rappers, and solo artists with Milwaukee ties.

Last year, 34 Milwaukee-area acts played a whopping 85 shows at Mile Of Music, accounting for more than 10 percent of the total performances. This time around, 32 of 236 total acts on the event’s just-finalized lineup have Milwaukee ties, which means roughly 14 percent of the acts participating in Mile 4 will make the 100-mile trek to play. Instead of reminding you of the strong connection between Milwaukee and Fox Cities music yet again, we’ll just list every act with direct Milwaukee ties playing Mile 4. Unlike previous years, which largely hinged on Americana and folk performers, this year will feature Space Raft, Klassik, New Age Narcissism, Tenement, Zed Kenzo, Lex Allen, a return performance from GGOOLLDD, and many more.
