Since forming in 2011, The DUIs have operated with a pretty simple set of motivations. The band that lives to “Party, get drunk, and play punk” has put out a steady stream of albums, EPs, and splits in its seven years on the scene. Along the way, The DUIs have enjoyed numerous opportunities to introduce their fun and frantic sound to audiences throughout the region while playing in support to prominent punk projects in Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, and Chicago. Before closing out another rowdy and show-filled year, the “four drunk punks from Beer City” want to take you to Brunch.

Brunch is a four-song split that finds The DUIs and The Subservients (from Pontiac, Illinois) each supplying a pair of songs. The brash Milwaukee punkers kick off Side A with “Lowlife.” The upbeat single is an anthem about “living life the best [you] can.” The DUIs’ side of the split was recorded by Shawn Brooks and mastered by Justin Perkins at Mystery Room Mastering.

Before The DUIs and The Subservients play a free (21+) split release show—along with Radio Hate and Avenues—at Sabbatic on Friday, December 14, you can go nowhere fast and listen to “Lowlife” below.
