If there’s one constant in an ever-changing, ever-frustrating world, it’s The Get Down, Milwaukee’s long-running funk and soul dance party. For more than 10 years, DJs Andy Noble, Brent Goodsell, and Nesh have been spinning rare tunes to the delight of a dance-floor’s-worth of gyrating bodies, turning the night into a monthly showcase for both vinyl-based deep cuts and ridiculous dance moves. And while Noble and company have long called Mad Planet home for The Get Down, the party has been known to branch out into other venues, most notably Turner Hall for an annual New Year’s Eve blowout. Happily, it was announced today that The Get Down will return to Turner Hall for NYE 2014 on Wednesday, December 31. If it’s anything like past years, this sucker will sell out, fast.

Once again, the party will feature a stage in the middle of the ballroom; video projection on Turner’s main stage; drink specials; and an all-night vegan, veggie and meat-eater buffet. All-inclusive tickets (open bar, Champagne toast, midnight pizza buffet, party favors) are $60; VIP tickets (no waiting in line, complimentary coat check, balcony access, open bar, exclusive buffet) are $85. All tickets go on sale Friday, September 19 at noon, and, like we said, will sell out fast.
