Whether it’s on account of budding music manager Ben Perlstein’s local roots, Partisan Records’ undeniable affinity for Wisconsin, or some combination of the two, Milwaukee has recently been privy to a great deal of events that would’ve bypassed the city without a second thought only a few years earlier. The Replacements made Milwaukee one of their few stops on their abbreviated tour in spring. Sylvan Esso has played here four times in the last 13 months. Replacements member Tommy Stinson (whom, along with the band, is a Perlstein client) is dropping by Club Garibaldi for a one-nighter, and now, Cactus Club has announced that Craig Finn will be playing its cozy confines on Friday, October 23.

The singer of The Hold Steady (which Perlstein represents) will swing by the Bay View club in support of his second solo record, Faith In The Future, which is due to be released by Partisan Records on September 11. Tickets to this intimate 21+ show from one of indie rock’s most renowned modern voices cost $15 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29.
