Those rapscallions in Platinum Boys are fresh off a mischievous summer that saw the Riverwest rock quartet dosing Milwaukee’s festivals, block parties, and clubs with pristine party anthems about indulging in the finer things like drugs, alcohol, and pizza. Keeping in line with the overarching theme of the band’s early output, Platinum Boys are keeping the party going with their new video for “Candy.”

Fittingly, the clip finds the band in its natural state of pounding domestics, smoking weed, and rocking out in a basement. Using a camcorder, Stephen Strupp of Sat. Nite Duets shot and directed the next-to-no budget video. (What does a case of Miller Lite from Sunrise Food run these days?) Local artist Matt Plain assisted Strupp in editing the video. “Candy” is the lead single from the forthcoming Platinum Boys album, Future Hits, which will be released by Dusty Medical (vinyl) and Forged Artifacts (cassette) in early 2015.

Before they head out on a six-state, eight-show tour in November, you can catch Platinum Boys on a stacked (and FREE!) Halloween bill with Jaill, Sat. Nite Duets, and Midnight Reruns at Linneman’s Riverwest Inn Friday night.
