Who’s got WAMI fever? Do you have WAMI fever? Do you have WAMI fever? We all have WAMI fever. Today, the folks behind the Wisconsin Area Music Industry unveiled the nominees for WAMI’s 38th annual awards show, set for Sunday, April 15 at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton. Covering everything from artist and album of the year (Platinum Boys, Abby Jeanne, WebsterX, The Fatty Acids, and Lex Allen all make multiple appearances) to best polka and tribute act (THE PRINCE EXPERIENCE), the awards are sure to delight, entertain, and occasionally confound. It wouldn’t be the WAMIs any other way.

WAMI will host a free party celebrating the nominees on Sunday, March 25 at Brookfield’s The Saloon on Calhoun (up for Best Live Club/Venue, natch). Voting for the People’s Choice Awards, meanwhile, is still on. [via Shepherd Express]
