In the wake of Leon’s Frozen Custard’s controversial “English-only” policy (and threatened alley fight), many Milwaukeeans are up arms, taking to the Internet to voice their pleasant, sensible, and tolerant thoughts. But one Milwaukee business is taking things to another (business-friendly) level: Bounce Milwaukee, Milwaukee’s premier fun world (R.I.P. Fun World), is offering non-English-speaking customers a free scoop of Purple Door Ice Cream throughout the day. A Facebook post explains:

We love Milwaukee’s linguistic and cultural diversity. To celebrate the amazing cultures and languages in our city, we’re offering a free scoop of Purple Door Ice Cream to everyone who orders in a language other than English today. We’re open from 10am – 9pm; our staff is happy to help you in English, Spanish, French, German, Tagalog, Croatian, Russian, Menominee, Korean, ASL, and in any other way that they can. No purchase necessary, one per customer (though everyone who makes the attempt in your group can use it); offer good while supplies last.

The promotion follows a recent Bounce Milwaukee contest to name a new Purple Door flavor. The winning name has yet to be announced, but we assume it, too, can be in English, Spanish, French, German, Tagalog, Croatian, Russian, Menominee, Korean, or ASL. [h/t Gretchen Dudley Wolfmeyer]
