According to a Redditor called Drunk Jesus, popular SPIKE TV series/thing you reluctantly watch when you’re still up at 4 a.m., Bar Rescue, was recently at longstanding North Avenue-adjacent tavern Y-Not III. From there, other Reddit users sprinkled in speculation of other Milwaukee bars seeking the honor of having Jon Taffer work his magic. (Usually just adding turkey sliders and unnecessarily elaborate shaker cocktails to the menu, by the way.) Among those rumored to have met with the show’s production crew were Treats Tavern, Scaffidi’s Hideout, Vitucci’s, Packy’s, Roman Coin, and even suburban bars Kicker’s Pub & Grub (Waukesha) and Boomers (Pewaukee). The Roman Coin confirmed the VP and Production Director of Bar Rescue came by the bar last week.

Milwaukee is blessed with a heft of iconic, unique, and all-around great bars. Yet with a staggering number of watering holes for a city its size, Milwaukee is also home to a large number of bars that could use rescuing. Frankly, it’s a wonder the show took this long to come to town. No matter which of the struggling bars is selected, it’ll be fun to see a façade get a makeover and watch Taffer scream “SHUT IT DOWN!” in some familiar faces.
