It may seem blasphemous to wish for autumn with summer still a few months off, but when it comes to the Milwaukee Film Festival, we’re happy to blaspheme away. Today, Milwaukee Film announced that it is accepting entries for its 7th annual fest, set for Sept. 24 – Oct. 8. Films and videos of all lengths and genres will be accepted until June 22. There is no submission fee (it’s free!) though a total of $16,000 in cash awaits a handful of winners: $5,000 will be awarded to a locally-based director in the insanely popular Cream City Cinema program; $10,000 will go to the best film in the Competition program; and $1,000 will be given to the standout in the Shorter is Better program. New this year is a music video program that will be part of the Cream City Cinema show, which should see plenty of action.

An entry form with complete eligibility information can be found here. Specific questions about submissions can be directed to [email protected]. Get to it, Milwaukee! Don’t let your childhood movies about sexually confused vampires languish in the basement any longer!
