You’ve never heard of Ghost Cuts? Don’t worry, it’s cool. After all, none of the members live in Milwaukee (Glendale, Cedarburg, Sheboygan). Moreover, they’ve played exactly zero shows in their near-two-year existence, and have just as many songs available for the general public to purchase. With that type of output, it’d almost be weirder if you had heard of Ghost Cuts.

However, the post-rock trio—which boasts past members of Alligator Gun, Canyons Of Static, and The Sensationalists—let the cat out of the bag over the weekend by posting videos for two previously unreleased songs, its first material released to this point. The videos for “Knives” and “Ylajali” (both made by bass player Chris Biertzer) blend and augment free video clips to forge an altogether space-y and trance-like aesthetic that perfectly matches the atmospheric soundscape and Jackson Kesy’s chilling vocals. Both songs will be on Ghost Cuts’ debut 10-song full-length, which was recorded at Howl Street last summer by Northless guitarist Nick Elert and mastered by Justin Perkins at Mystery Room Mastering.

The band has no timetable on when a physical release is expected, but now that we’ve heard some of it, let’s hope it’s soon.
