Even if Milwaukee’s comedy clubs are utterly failing to book notable comedians (unless you count Pauly Shore), you have to hand it to a small-yet-passionate group of independent promoters for filling the city’s comedic crevice between local shows and Turner Hall-level draws with worthwhile touring comics. Chris Thayer will take the stage (is there a stage?!) at Green Gallery West tonight. JackassPreston Lacy will come to Cactus Club next month. Thanks to Milwaukee Comedy founder and longtime local stand-up proponent Matt Kemple, Neil Hamburger disgusted and delighted a standing room only Club Garibaldi crowd last month.

Kemple—who has also booked the likes of Nick Thune, Godfrey, and Josh Fadem—will keep the laughs rolling into next year with Milwaukee Comedy’s latest impressive get. Tuesday night, he announced Andy Kindler of Bob’s Burgers, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Maron semi-fame will bring his dry neuroses to Club Garibaldi on Monday, April 4. Joining the veteran alt-comic is Los Angeles (by way of Milwaukee) comedian Jake Kornely and lauded local Tyler Menz.

Tickets can be pre-ordered now for $14 or can be purchased at the door (while they’re available) for $17. You’re not going to want to miss the five to seven minutes of his set Kindler will undoubtedly devote to Club G’s award-winning buffalo wings.
