God damn, Burnhearts Mitten Fest 2016 was great. Excuse the tardiness, but we’ve only recently thawed out, sobered up, and fully processed all the food, fun, friendship, and philanthropy that took place on a two-block stretch of Bay View last Saturday. Along the way, Hunger Task Force received 5,000 pounds of non-perishable food, 90 bags of clothing were collected, close to $2,000 in donations were raised, Burnhearts blew through more than 40 kegs of beer (not to mention running out of Old Fashioned ingredients by 4 p.m.), and we haven’t heard of any resulting incidents more severe than some dude barfing at nearby Hué.

In all, it was the biggest Mitten Fest yet, and arguably the best as well. Though we could go on about our favorite sights, sounds, and sips of this year’s festivities, perhaps visuals would do a better job of illustrating the spirit of Milwaukee’s favorite winter party.
