Back in February, the world was introduced to Jaymes Mansfield when the Milwaukee drag queen was announced as a contestant on the ninth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The popular VH1 show’s season premiered on Friday, March 24. One week later, Mansfield became the first contestant eliminated when she came up short against Kimora Black in a head-to-head B-52s lip sync challenge.

Though her time on the show was brief, Mansfield remains in high spirits and is thankful for the experience. After the episode aired, she released a video in which she—wearing a dress she stole from the show’s wardrobe department—pledges to stay the course with more makeup tutorials, movie reviews, and drag “herstory” lessons. Mansfield was the second Drag Race contestant with Milwaukee ties. Trixie Mattel came in sixth place in the show’s seventh season.
